Weekend Eating and Updated To Do List

The train derailed just a bit over the weekend.  I’ve got to get this “last supper” syndrome out of my system.  I’m good to go now though, although I must say, my oatmeal sure didn’t go very far this morning.

I visited with my wonderful cardiologist yesterday.  I swear, if he ever stops taking my insurance, I’ll be very sad.  He gave me the all clear for the surgery, and is begrudgingly doing a 2 day stress test just because Dr. McKenna’s office said they needed one.  I’ve scheduled it for September.

Here’s the updated To-Do List:

Here’s the udpated to do list:

1.  I have to be a six month physician monitored weight loss plan – and I have to go in every month to get weighed.  I’ll make that call tomorrow.  I have the diet from the bariatric clinic and I only need to lose 10 to 15 pounds before surgery.  Two months down – four months to go.

2.  Letter of medical necessity. – No problem.  I’ll get that from my primary care doctor.

3.  Cardiology consult with stress test.  I’ll call and get that scheduled.  Scheduled for June 29.  Scheduled for 9/9 and 9/14.

4.  Sleep Study.  Scheduled June 10th

5.  Lab Testing (I have my labwork – I’ll get that done next week)

6.  Psychiatric Evalution.  I have a list of doctors to chose from.  I’ll call and make an appointment.  appointment June 4.

7.  Gastroenterology Exam.  Scheduled July 31

8.  Pulmonary consult.  Scheduled July 22nd

9.  Bilateral venous dopler study lower extremities – Scheduled July 8th

10.  Attend one support group for RNY patients – scheduled for May 12.

11.  Make out a will and a living will (this is my project for August)

12.  Sleep study #2 with CPAP – scheduled for 7/10/09.

I am also required to begin two journals – one is to specifically be about the weight loss surgery process, the other about my regular thoughts and feelings as a way to replace my usual stress go-to, food.  I also have to log my eating for a week along with my thoughts and feelings, and fax that to the behavioral specialist, all the while journaling my food and exercise

Happy Dance!

I hit my 20 pound goal this morning.  Next goal…25 pounds…which will put me under 300 pounds.  My overall goal prior to the surgery is 33 pounds…that will be 10% of my original body weight.

I’m now nearly 3 months into my six month weight loss routine.  3 months to go…half way to surgery goal!

Weigh-In Wednesday, and Other Stuff

Beginning weight – 321

Weight 6/11/09 – 303

Weight 6/24/09 – 302

Loss – (-1)

Total Loss – (-19)

In other news, I have stayed on plan this week, and its felt very good.  I’m out of one my my insulins and won’t be able to get anymore until next week, so I’m struggling with my overnight blood sugar readings.  I need to play with my other insulin to see if I can make up the gap until I can get more insulin.

I’ve also been walking every day this week, and plan for another walk tonight, as long as the rain holds off.

Nearly to my next goal…20 pounds gone!

On Plan and Feeling Good!

I stayed totally on plan today.  I still have my fruit to eat…and I’m saving that for before bed, but my eating was perfect today.

Tonight, after work and before I cooked dinner, we loaded up the dog and went over to the park to take a walk.  It felt good to get out and get some exercise.  I’m sorely lacking in exercise, so this may be what it takes to get my ass in gear and get to walking.  I’m determined to hit my 20 pound goal this week.  🙂

Stalled…

I’ve been eating out of hand a little bit, since Aunt Flo came to town.  So, I’m stalled still and 303.  I’ve not been eating a lot, or tons of stuff I’m not supposed to eat, but I’ve slipped back into eating in the living room, and I’ve gotten away from always measuring my food, and slipping in snacks between meals.  I’m back on track though, so hopefully we’ll be back on a downward slope here soon.

This week also starts the exercise program that I’ve continually put off.  Every night after work.  Need to get my ass in order.

Weekend Challenges and Updated To Do List

We are having company this weekend.  My step-daughter and her husband and baby are coming up to celebrate Father’s Day with Mr. G and they are spending the night at our place.  I’m thrilled to have them.  I haven’t seen my granddaughter since Christmas.  Normally, out of town guests wouldn’t worry me in the least when it comes to eating, but, they want to go out to eat.  And they like the Italian place.

Eating out has turned out to me a challenge for me -not just with the food, but mentally and emotionally as well.  We ate out a bit on our trip to Colorado, and while I chose (for the most part) healthier selections, I automatically went into “last meal mode.”  The one that says, “this will be the last time you can ever eat this again, so enjoy…order what you want.”  And I hate to be a pain in the ass at restaurants.  I think I’m going to angle for ordering pizza in…that way they can have pizza, and I can eat what I need to eat.

And, since I’ve had to add another pre-op test, here’s my updated to do list:

NNNNNOOOOOooooooo

So, the Sleep Clinic just called again.  I have moderate sleep apnea (duh) and have to go back in for another sleep study with the CPAP.   I scheduled this one for a Friday night so I can recouperate on Saturday.

F-ing A.  I hate this.
