90 Day Post Op Appointment

Has been moved…from Tuesday the 2nd to Tuesday the 9th – which is actually closer to my 90 days.

Now come on body – let’s get it together!

What a Difference 3 Months and 65 Pounds Makes

What a difference three months makes…here is the dress I got for my niece’s wedding in October –

And this is what it looked like yesterday…

11 Week Weigh In

Is the same as the 10 week weigh in…yay stall.

Got good news from my primary care though – bp was 116/72 yesterday with no meds, and my HGBA1C was 6.7 with no insulin.  Yay!

My 3 month follow up is next week – hoping for another five pounds before I go in.

Crock Pot Mexican Chicken

I wanted something different tonight, so I decided to throw this in the crockpot.

1.5 pounds of chicken thights (easier to go down than chicken breasts for me)

2 cans of diced tomatos with chilies

1 large onion, diced

1 green bell pepper, diced

2 jalepeno peppers, sliced (if you don’t like that much heat, you can cut back, or cut out the seeds)

4 cloves of garlic, chopped

1 can of black beans

onion powder

garlic powder

chili powder

cumin

Put all ingredients in the crock pot – uses the spices to your liking.  Put it on low at let it cook all day – at least 8 hours.

Tonight I”ll top it with some low fat shredded cheese, some salsa, diced tomato, lettuce, chopped green onion, and just a little bit of sour cream.  Yum.

Ten Week Weigh-in

Starting Weight (4/21/09)  – 321

Surgery Weight (11/10/09) – 304

Last Weigh-in (1/12/10) – 262

Today’s Weight (1/19/10) – 257

Wow – I actually lost 5 pounds this week.  I hadn’t realized that until I put the numbers here.  This week has been a pretty good one, although weightloss seems slow at the moment.  I know its because my cycle started yesterday.  Hopefully that means a big drop before my appointment on Feb. 2nd.

I’ve also put in 6 pounds towards my 50 pound goal for the Pound for Pound Challenge.  That’s six pounds of food for the Maryland Food Bank.  I think that’s a good start.

As you can see from my previous entries, I’ve started working out religiously with my Wii and upping my protein.  It feels really good to get in these workouts, and its nice being able to actually do the workout without groaning and actually being able to do the moves makes me feel good about myself.

Wow moments this week (NSVs) – crossing my legs, sitting in a movie theater seat, seeing the bones in my ankles.

Exercise and the Biggest Loser for Wii

I was really good about getting my exercise in UNTIL I went back to work.  Most of the time, I get in my walk from the bus stop to work, and from work to the bus stop, but that’s it.  I get up and its dark and cold, and I get home from work and its dark and cold.

I’m so glad I decided to get my Wii.  Thanks to that little machine, I have gotten in 30 to 45 minutes per day of an aerobic workout.  I need to suck it up and start doing some strength training as well.  I noticed last night, I’m starting to get some extra skin on my upper arms.  They weren’t pretty to start with, but now, ewwwww.  I’m hoping if I start in with some toning, it will minimize the effects.

I’ve been doing the Wii fit plus workout, plus adding about half an hour of Wii sports (which does work up a sweat, especially the boxing!).  This morning, I decided to give the Biggest Loser workout a try.  It actually wasn’t as bad as I expected, although they said I should be eating 2475 calories a day.  LOL…my pouch would NOT allow that.  I’m lucky to get in 700 calories.  I am going to be adding a full protein shake on a daily basis.  I know that now that I’m working out regularly, I need to up my protein and fluids.  We’ll see how it goes.

Weight loss has slowed a bit this week – to be expected – I’ve added in exercise, and just checked the calendar – my cycle is about due and I usually slow up then….then I usually take off 10 pounds in the two weeks after my cycle ends…should be just in time for my 12 week follow up.  I can’t believe I’m 10 weeks out now, and down as much as I am.  I’m amazed.

Wii Workout

So, I have used my wii fit plus every day so far for half an hour.  I’m really enjoying the rhythm boxing and the step.  I like that it tracks your minutes and calories, and allows you to set goals and revise them.  And it’s a really nice aerobic workout.  I haven’t tried the strength training or the yoga yet, but I will soon I think.

I also got the Biggest Loser workout today.  I may try that one tomorrow, but I hope it doesn’t beat me down…LOL!
