Phew – My Body DOES Still Remember How to Lose Weight

I have not only take off the 7 pounds I gained while on disability, but I’ve lost an extra!  Down to 184.  Nearly down to my lowest weight of 183.  I will get to my goal weight in the next year.  I will I will I will.  I just have to focus on the important stuff – high quality dense protien, lots of fluids, and limiting my carbs.  And remembering that my pouch is there for a reason.

Once I get my ass back to exercising regularly, that will help too.  My knee is doing a lot better.  I’m back to full weight bearing, which means I’ve finally (after two months) ditched the crutches, and I actually have been walking pretty well.  Lots of swelling, and pain by the end of the day, but PT is working, and I’m regaining strength and flexibility – both are very important.  After my first knee sugery 3 years ago, it literally took me 18 months to go up and down the steps foot over foot.  Yesterday, I went both up (easier) and down(very hard) the stairs foot over foot without too many problems.  I can also stand my full weight on my right leg (briefly) and that took me six months the last time.



Panic Attack

I got on the scale this morning for my weekly weigh in and it was 20 pounds heavier than normal.

I freaked.

Then I realized the stupid cat was standing behind me on the scale bonking my legs.

Once I pushed him off, I was back down to 195.  *phew*

And yes, my cat weighs 20 pounds.  ZOMG.

100 Pounds Gone

I hopped on the scale this morning because I hadn’t in a while (stupid TOM).  I was pleased to see a lovely 204 this morning.

That means in 8 months and 3 days, I have lost 100 pounds from my surgery date.  I’m 5 pounds away from ONEDERLAND!  Yay!

I knew going back to my tried and true method of concentrating on protein and fluids would work. 

I’m logging my food at sparkpeople now.  Don’t need to log it twice. 

And I’m seeing my support group tonight for dinner.  Yay!  I lurve those women!

Weightloss has been S-L-O-W this month, but as of this morning the scale is finally moving again, so Yay.  One thing I have noticed is that I’m losing inches like crazy and my body is definitely getting some definition.  I’ve never had definition before, unless you count round and gelatenous as a definition.  My boobs stick out father than my stomach, and I’ve got bones popping out all over the place.  My face is really getting some definition to it now, and I’m losing my chins.  Hopefully soon they’ll all be gone.  I have extra skin on my neck though, so I stil have a turkey neck – it’s hard to left weights with your chin.

I’ve been working out regularly at the gym.  Yesterday, I put in 42 laps. and today I did 30 minutes on the elliptical followed by 25 minutes of lower body strength training.  It absolutely amazes me that I can put in a good hour workout without dragging by the end, wanting to quit half way through, or wishing that I would just die because it would be easier than working out any longer.  That thrills me to no end.

I’m solidly in size 20 pants and size 18/20 tops (depending on who makes them).  My bra size has gone from a 48C to a 40B (sob).  I’m a mere three pounds away from my next intermediate goal of 232.  I will hit that in the next couple of weeks if I have to chop off an arm to do it.

I love my RNY.  There is no way that having surgery is the easy way out – I really have to work things – but it has saved my life, that’s for sure.
